Works well on dark hair, but sticks are too small
(May 5, 2013)
"I have dark brunette hair, and was surprised when these worked great! HOWEVER, I am disappointed by the size of the sticks. I have long and thick hair and barely got one use out of them. I definitely recommend for short or thin hair, but for hair like mine, definitely NOT NOT NOT worth the money!!!!"

So pretty!
(May 1, 2013)
"These colors are really beautiful and fun but they really do make your hair feel really gross, like sea salt spray x10000. As long as you're not someone who will obsess over the way your hair feels, these colors are beautiful and so much fun to use."

Messy and works well even on dark hair
(April 28, 2013)
"It has a good variety of colors, and works well on the dark brown hair that I have. For me, it only lasted for about 24 hours, but it might be different depending on what color hair you have. It gets a bit messy, but it easily washes off your hands with soap and water."

dirty chalk
(April 24, 2013)
"I luv the spectrum of colors - getting pinks & blues & neutral tones all in one set - however I would have preferred they left out the dreary olive, brown & black ones because when I opened the package those colors had smeared all over the lighter ones & I had to wipe them off so that the pastels & brights showed true."

Really Fun
(April 22, 2013)
"I could never be bothered to put the effort or money into dyeing my hair, and I also did not want to damage it. But I have always wanted to experiment. So when I saw these for so cheap I had to try it out! I recently cut my hair into a pixie cut, and it's a light blonde, so it did not take much as all for it to look wonderful. I am so pleased I can finally get the dyed hair look without the effort. I don't think it would work near as well on hair much darker than mine, though."

Hair Dust...
(April 17, 2013)
"I have dark brown hair, and I tried the blue and all it did was turn my hair a light dusty grey. Not only that, it made my hair feel disgusting, and as soon as I ran my fingers through my hair, it was gone. I tried the pink, and it was the exact same thing. The colour was brighter, but the texture was horrible and it just came right out after straightening and/or touching. I would never attempt to hair chalk again, it's a waste of time and money. It might not damage your hair, but it doesn't do anything nice to it either."

The color goes on my dark hair, but......
(April 15, 2013)
"I was excited to try these out. I have Asian black hair. I was a bit worried that the color wont go on my hair. I tried after I just got out of the shower. The color slides on easily on my hair when its wet, but just like the other reviewer, wet colored hair will stain on my neck, and my arms too while I was trying to dry it. Although I put the color on with gloves, it ended up leaving a mess on my face, neck, and arms that I have to rub them of after I dried my hair. The thing is. After I curled my hair with curling iron, the color still comes off when ever you touch the colored area. and when it's dried, it is VERY VERY hard to brush your hair open.....your hair will turn out very dry with the chalk."

Not what I was expecting
(April 14, 2013)
"I don't know if it's just with this, or all hair products, but this stuff dries out hair completely and stains EVERYTHING! The color gets EVERYWHERE! I tried making my ends pink and it stained my neck and my face for like 3 days, even with showers and face wash. My hair was completely damaged through and through. I had to get a hair cut because this stuff made my split ends 100 times worse. Bottom Line. Dont do it.
The only reason I'm giving this a 2 is because the color does show up on my dark hair. That's it."

BEST!!!! I LOVE THESE!!!!!
(April 13, 2013)
"My hair is strawberry blonde and these ALL worked great. I tested them a two ways. I tried using them dry on dry hair and dry on wet hair. First I put the hair in my hand and went over and over and over ... and over it with the chalk on dry hair. Then I did the same thing but wet my hair first. It came out dull on dry and very bright on wet. I brushed it out a few times to blend the color and put hair spray in it. The color stayed for 4 days...until I washed my hair. I didn't have to reapply and it even withstood the rain. I love this product a lot. The pieces are small, but I think there would be a bigger chance of them breaking if they came longer in size. TIP:I found that putting a towel on top of my palm but under the hair worked great so I didn't stain my hands."

dries your hair out
(April 8, 2013)
"i have dark red hair it took my a few tried to figure out how the chalk works best. for me, i had to wet the chalk and apply it to dry hair. but the chalk made my hair remarkably dry; it was painful to brush it was so dry. the majority of the color faded within three hours and every time i tried to brush my fingers through it my hands got stained. it was quite stressful time"

Good colors, but dries out hair
(April 7, 2013)
"First off, I'm a brunette, and my friend has black hair, and the colors did show up on our hair, though we had to wet the desired hair strands before rubbing chalk on them. Depending on your hair type, think twice about using this product. If your hair is already prone to dryness/is dry DO NOT USE THIS HAIR CHALK. I really wish I could use this product more but it DRIES out my hair to the point of straw-like consistency. I wanted to try a more intense ombre look but I ended up having to wash my hair right afterwards because I couldn't do anything with it—couldn't comb or style, and it just felt awful wearing my hair all dry and stiff like. I looked like a crazy witch! Either use sparingly or not at all."

Awesome on dark hair!!
(April 1, 2013)
"I love this set & I have dark brown hair!! The trick is to dip the stick in water & rub it repeatedly over the strands the more you use the better the result. Don't give up you brunettes I almost did until I experimented with them!! I even used some on my granddaughters (18 months) hair &. She loved it!! Also a brunette!! Washes out when you shampoo!! I consider this an awesome product & using the brown covers some of the gray roots until I get my hair done :)"

Save your money
(March 25, 2013)
"Do yourself a favour and buy dry (chalk) pastels. It's the exact same thing, but the sticks are larger, and you can get super huge packs of them with even larger colour varieties. Plus, most of these didn't show up on my hair (medium dark brown hair). Disappointing."

Comes off on clothes, DOES NOT work on dark hair!!
(March 23, 2013)
"I guess this product would be ok if you use it on tiny strands of your hair and you're a blonde. But if you're a brunette IT WILL NOT WORK!!! There's not enough chalk to use it more than once and it comes off on your clothes within minutes!!"

Decent
(March 22, 2013)
"I have long brown hair, and certain colors show up really well. If you have brown hair you MUST wet your hair to use these. When wet, the colors are very vibrant. When they dry, not only does your hair feel little rough and maybe even a little sticky, but the colors fade immediately. There are slight hues of red, purple and teal, but the pieces themselves are not overly bright. It's not bad, just not really what I was hoping for. I bet this would work amazingly on blondes. The chalk pieces themselves are SO small, you probably could only use the same piece of chalk maybe twice."
"No problem on dark hair and good price for the variety of colors given! Love it & would buy it again. It was the perfect birthday present for my little sister!"
"I bought this at the store because it looked fun and cute. I wish there were less colors and bigger sized chalk though because the pieces of chalk are super small. It's basically impossible to use them dry (i'm blonde and they just don't show up no matter what I do). I recommend to get a strand of your hair damp, and then you rub the chalk onto it. Don't wet the chalk directly though because it will make a huge mess of your hands and could be bothersome. Then dry it off with either a blow dryer or flatiron and go about your day. When I do that, it tends to last for a couple of days (rather than the half-day that other people said). Either way, I'm happy with this purchase and it's a very cool alternative to dying/killing your hair with chemicals. It's harmless, colorful, and cool!"
"its like fun dip ! it gets everywhere and stains your fingers... the hair chalk was a fun idea, but honestly kind of hard to put on.. I have dark brown reddish hair and not may of the colors would stick to my hair, i managed to get maybe 5 colors to appear on my hair.. but touching your hair to much makes it go away :( either way I love it, and im going to keep trying to put it in my hair! it looks great."
