Didn't work at all for me

"I may have applied this wrong, but this product did not work for me at all. It's a very small compact and would be good for streaks but I wanted to color my whole head. I applied the color with hairspray, like the package instructed, and brushed by hair (maybe you're not supposed to?) and it faded almost immediately. I think even it if had lasted, the amount of product you receive is not worth the $14. However, I have dark blonde hair and it was very vibrant so I'd imagine it works well on darker hair."

Lasts all day! But small compact & expensive.

"If you're blonde, DON'T buy this. My friend who's blonde had her hair stained for weeks! But I have dark brown hair and not much colors it, but this does! And it washed out after several days for me... It's a small container and kind of expensive, but SUPER pigmented."

"My fiancé purchased all colors of hair wear makeup for me for Christmas. My fave is violet and aqua. Tonight I am going to try out the other colors for New Year's Eve, but, I am sure I won't be disappointed. Really unique product. It showed up really great in my hair too...I am a natural blonde."

"Based on prior reviews I was a little leary about using this product on my blonde hair. I thought what the heck and went for it. LOVED the effect that it gave to my hair. I bought Hot Pink and it took only 2-shampoo's to wash completely out. The Violet was the same- 2-shampoo's. Hope that it comes out in more colors soon!"

"this product works well on girls with darker hair, but it has a tendency to stain blonde hair! D: it comes out eventually, but you may have to take a weeks worth of showers before your hair is normal!"

"Used this product around Halloween for a party that I was going to and it work perfect. Washed out fine and I was very pleased overall. My friend Hoodie used the blue and was also very pleased."

Not for Light Blonde Hair

"Oh Boy. I bought this for my daughter, who has white blonde waist length hair. Not only is there not enough to do her whole head with one purchase (which turned out to be a GOOD thing), the stuff didn't wash out for four or five hairwashings, and I can still see a bit of purple in the sunlight. If your hair is natural light blonde, be sure to try this on a hidden piece of hair to be sure it washes out. Have a friend check in sunlight or other bright light, because it looked out indoors, but when she went in the sun... oh no!"

"i love this product. i was there throughout its entire creation. im in a sorority so we arent suppose to have wild crazy hair. but i love using it for socials with a theme, and halloween! its a splash of color without the commitment which i love! i have light brown hair so it goes in amazing and washes out the same day! couldnt ask for anything more :)"

"I got this product in violet and tangerine orange and and applied it immediately... LOVED it until 2 minutes later when I ran my fingers through my hair and my hand came up purple... another thing is that it comes in an extremely small amount. overall this is a good product for photo shoots and what not but you will not be able to use it in your daily life"

fun, but does hold up

"The color looked great when it first went in. I have light light brow hair and I bought the pink. However, after about three uses, the chalk was half way gone. It crumbles really easily, so it doesn't really last very long. It should probably be a bit cheaper. You don't get much either. The circle is about an inch wide. I put the color in at around 1 pm, and the color faded into a reddish color after like 3 hours and was completely gone by night time. It's cute and fun, but it's definitely not the best product around"

"I really wanted "washable" hair color to try out on different areas of my hair. I have light brown hair and I bought hot pink. It looks sooo great! It stays in all day, and washes out easy! You can't go wrong with HOT pink, no matter your hair color!"

"it really means temporary... sprays dye my ~very blonde~ hair for days (and feel hard like hair spray!!!) but this washed out with almost no residue. the blue is chalky and gives that pastel look that's so very IN right now... the only drawback is that one compact barely covers my whole head, which makes it pricey.
**just to add, I did this to show my boyfriend--who was opposed to me dying my hair--that blue is sexy. needless to say he changed his mind wholeheartedly and loves the blue ;)"

Dark Hair?

"After reading the reviews on here i was ready to order the purple color for my hair, which is a really dark brown color. They had samples out in the stores and my friend used the blue on her dark brown hair, which came out really nice and super vibrant (it came out without hairspray and anything to hold it though within an hour on her shirt and everything and was pretty messy though) . The lilac and pink, though, did not turn out on my hair or my other friend who has even lighter hair than me, when we tried those so you may want to take that into consideration if your hair is dark so you don't have to go through the trouble! If you just want a faded color and use lots of hairspray it will be ok though!"

"I've been using Kevin Murphy Color.Bug and this product is definitely comparable. If you have darker hair and it isn't showing up, either put some wax product on before applying, or you can apply the color and then hit it with a shot of dry shampoo spray (I use dry clean only) to lighten the tone.
Love this product, especially with the light blue, pink and lilac colors being really "trendy" and attractive -- without the permanent commitment."

The only thing that sucks is that it's so small, it's even smaller than a MAC eyeshadow -___-
$14 is a lot for just one tiny little thing, but the quality is worth it so I'm okay with it.
So if you plan to use it a lot, buy multiple because you'll use it up quickly!"

"I heard great things about this product from a friend of a friend. They were not overstating it's coolness! I'm a portrait photographer and I now have this "hair makeup" in my travel kit to offer to a subject. It adds a touch of fun & color to their pics and it has been very well received!! Even for BLONDES?!?

"I can't even begin to describe how awesome this product is!! I was loving the multi-color look, but terrified to try it myself. I have blonde hair & like other blondes know, we are NOTORIOUS for not being able to get color products to wash out of our blonde. Well, not with this product! I found Hair Wear Make-up & I'm in love! Not only is it super easy to apply, but it didn't rub off on my clothes & It completely washed out with the first wash leaving NO residue or stains! So many fabulous colors, I can have a new look everyday and its so much more affordable than fake clip-ins! I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to spice up their do!"
