"Sure it's a good price, but i'm telling you don't get it. I got the navy dress and the color wasn't as pictured, it look greenish-black. The "sheer" part wasn't even sheer and it looked like a plain dress. It was also a little long and wasn't flattering."

"I ordered my normal size and it fit well. The dress is a little see through (I had to wear a tank dress underneath it). Other than that, it's a great dress!!"

"I am 5"5; 130 lbs and curvy and it fit alright. The issue was the color for me, mainly. They must have edited those pictures big time cause the navy dress is nowhere near as light as the pictures would lead you to believe. It is a step from black and you can hardly tell there is a sheer portion at all. Awkward material, thick, but funny, extremely unnatural stuff. It's an unpleasant experience and it's not terrifically flattering."

"I ordered the yellow, navy, and coral because I wanted to try them all on before deciding on which color to keep. All three dresses are made from different material. The navy was the thickest with the thickest mesh and it was fairly dark but looked like the best quality. The yellow was in the middle. The coral was just absolutely dreadful. It looked nothing like the picture. It was a cheap WOVEN-like material and was a dark pink color. The mesh was so cheap compared to the others and I understand why other customers were complaining about the mesh ripping. I think I'm going to keep the navy since it looked like better of the three. I'm glad I snagged this on sale cause I would never have paid full price for it."

odd but I like it

"I got this in navy, and the fabric is a bit weird. first off, the sheer chiffon on the top isn't at all that sheer. and then the main fabric is almost a thick scratchy fabric (it isn't actually scratchy or itchy when you're wearing it, it just has that feel touching it with your fingers) and the main fabric is almost black, a completely different shade of navy then the chiffon part. however, I otherwise do like the dress and on sale, it's a pretty good price. I'm thinking about trying a different color and hoping that'll work out.

"Just came in the mail today. I got this in Navy so the transparency wasn't an issue though I can tell a bra would show in this. It was just too long and not flattering at all. I may be too short at 5'3 but I have never had an issue before with sizing. Sending it back."

"The dress was cute but it was see through and I couldn't wear it any where. Plus, it ripped while I was in school and had to wear a sweatshirt over it. Definitely NOT worth it."

"I'm 5'4 and skinny enough, but the small was too big! I ordered the cream color and it was also super see-through. I had it tailored to fit better and added some lining so I could wear it to an outdoor wedding. the intentionally sheer fabric at the top of the dress was so delicate though, that first it started to look strained at the seams, and then it eventually began to tear away in the back. By the end of the reception, it was ripped on both sides... Totally embarrassing! It was a destination wedding, and I ended up leaving this sucker in the trash in my hotel room. It was cute while it lasted, but it didn't last very long :("

"I BOUGHT THIS DRESS FOR A WEDDING AND IT LOOKED NICE. WHEN I WENT TO THE PICTURES BEFORE THE WEDDING STARTED IT BROKE ONCE. THEN AFTER THE MASS ALL THE BACK WAS BROKEN. THE SECOND TEXTILE IS VERY THIN AND IT IS NOT WELL CONSTRUCTED. TRUST ME YOU DON'T WANT TO BE IN THAT SITUATION."

Pretty, but a little big

"I was a little bummed when this dress came in. The color is gorgeous (I ordered the coral) and it is fairly close to the picture, but the top material is a little bit more orange-y. I got the dress in a medium considering a few other Urban Renewal dresses I've tried have been a bit on the small side, but this one ran rather large on me. I'm 5'6, 135 lbs, 34A and the top was gaping underneath my armpits. The waist seemed to fit well but I felt like I still had a lot of stretch left. This might fit someone with a larger chest than myself, but I would have had to take in the sides for it to work. I'm exchanging for a small to see if the fit is different. I actually like the feel of the fabric and don't think it feels heavy at all in my own opinion. I really like this dress a lot, but with it being online only, obviously makes the fit more of a guessing game."

"As much as I like this dress, it was cheap and fit weird. I had to get the arm holes tailored because they bulged oddly and unattractively. In addition, after only wearing the dress once there is already a giant tear in the back where the sheer fabric meets the main dress.
I love the look of the dress, but it just is not worth it."

"I agree completely with the first review regarding the fabric. It is stiff and heavy, feels like polyester or something similar, although it's "vintage fabrics" so we'll never actually know. Also, I ordered this in the navy and, while in the picture it looks like the sheer material is the same color as the body, in person the color is off.
Unlike the first reviewer, however, I would say the size definitely runs small, not large. I ordered the large and the elasticized waist is 22"... in what world is that large? I will be returning this."

"I got my Urban order the other day and when I opened the bag there was this horrific smell. Come to find out it was this dress that was the source of the smell.
BUT aside from the foul smell (which probably was due to sitting in a moist shipping container for to long after not having the color set in the fabric) this dress is super cute.
I did end up returning the dress as it just didn't wow me as much as the other items I purchased. They could have done a better job on the gathering around the waist. There is an elastic waist bad that is just zig zagged on and almost makes the dress look cheap sadly. The fabric is thick enough that you won't need a slip though. You will need a low cut bra for this though as the sweetheart neckline is a true sweetheart. The material on the top part is pretty and there is a night gold button to close the back part at the top.
A lovely dress for the right occasion...IF you can get the smell out."
