"I purchased this map as I love orange. I have an orange couch and wanted to tie the theme in a bit, plus I had this massive blank wall in my dining area. I saw the images of people just tacking it to their walls and thought it looked a little average but still wanted the map.
So after measuring it all up I constructed a light wood frame with all the necessary brackets to ensure it stays in shape as it is a HUGE map. It looks brilliant if I do say so myself, and if you love your map go make the frame. Well worth it.

Love it but it is not an actual map

"I love how this tapestry fitted in my room and that was definitely what I was looking for BUT the map is not accurate at all - there is no black or caspian sea there and there are some islands on that map that don't exist so I wouldn't recommend it for a classroom like I it said in other review so kids don't get confused. Otherwise it is a good looking piece for decoration."

"I love traveling and I love looking at maps, so looking at my tapestry is awesome. It is much bigger in person than I expected, but it still looks great. The backdrop is a little bit more tan than I expected, but it is just the fabric. I still definitely intend on hanging it up in my college dorm room next year."

"I ordered the plum one for my classroom! It really catches the eye. The kids were stoked to have a "world map" that was 10 x bigger than them. I'm really impressed and I would suggest ordering one."

"I'm living with relatives long term at the moment and painting the walls wasn't an option and this was a perfect fit. I do wish it was longer, but where it's short isn't visible. It's pretty true to the color in the sample image. I was afraid there was going to be spots where the ink bled but there's none. I haven't washed it yet, don't think I will to prevent ruining.
Since there was no suggested hanging, I used 3m velcro strips. Worked perfectly. Very much worth the price"

Great Accent Piece!

"The wall in my living room was pretty bare, and this was a great size to place on the wall. The room looks much less barren now, and it really adds to the "worldly" theme of my home!
The only thing that kind of threw me off was that there was no way to hang the tapestry on a rod, so I used wall hanging strips instead. I will have to create a valance of some sort to cover it up because it bothers me a bit. But other than that the tapestry is beautiful and worth the money!"

Awesome as Bed spread

"I ordered this in black and white for the purpose of using as a bedspread. There weren't many reviews or pictures of it being used for that, but thought I'd give it a shot. LOVE IT. My husband loves it too. It fits perfectly on our king bed. I washed it on delicate in cold water (even though it says handwash only) because I worried the black would rub off onto our white bedding. The washing didn't cause any problems, and our expensive white comforter underneath is just fine! I also love that it looks more like cow print laying flat on a bed instead of looking like atlas on a wall. But that's just me! I would highly recommend."

Great purchase, but...

"I ordered two purple tapestries to cover one wall. They are both absolutely gorgeous, but the only thing is that they are not quite the same color. One is a darker plum color while the other is a little brighter maroon color, closer to what is in the picture. Though each tapestry is beautiful on its own, they don't look as spectacular together as I thought they would, because I wasn't expecting inconsistency between the colors and this really breaks up the wall. Knowing this, I would have still bought the two for the price, but this is just a warning to those who have the same idea I did."

"I say, don't wait to buy this, get it while you can!! I waited 4 months just to get this tapestry (I ordered August) and then I cancelled my order because it was on back order for so long.
GET IT NOW! It is amazing. I was happy when I finally checked back this month and saw it was in-stock! I got mine is plum. Best color ever."

"I have the black and white one. Pro: it makes a big statement for not a lot of $. Con: the dye is not very high quality, in fact it comes with a warning saying not to let it stain lighter colored items! It actually came with the white parts looking a little bit dirty in places, I assume from the dye rubbing off. So, I definitely wouldn't recommend using this as a bed spread. I'm happy with it as a wall hanging."

"So, I love this atlas map. It's so cool and all my friends thought it was painted on my wall or something at first (in pictures, not real life obv). Then they saw it in real life, still loved it. Only two things I'm ever so slightly displeased with. #1. I wish it was a little bigger. Maybe I just have large walls or something but it doesn't cover all of mine so there's edges of normal wall space and then atlas and then normal wall space. So that's fun. #2. I wish they'd had the black and white one when I ordered mine! I got the orange and white and it's a nice contrast to my room but I'm all about the black and white and the atlas, in those colors, in my room, would have been even more phenomenal."

"I got the blue one about two years ago and mine is darker than the blue one shown. Maybe they've changed it up since I bought mine, but I LOVEEEE it. I even love the darker color more than the light blue... adds a richer feel. But if you're thinking about buying a tapestry to cover a wall, this is the one! I've never regretted it a day in my life! Many compliments later, I HAD to write a review on here. Great job Urban Outfitters!"
