Good backpack but...

"I bought the Little America backpack because I'm taking 6 classes per semester and needed more room. I previously had the Pop Quiz backpack but it started to rip, which is what led me to purchase a new one. I love Herschel's products in the sense that they are made w/ waterproof material, have a great/durable laptop sleeve inside it, and are neat looking. However, within the first week of using the backpack, the bottom had ripped -this led to an exchange that I wasn't entirely happy about. My new backpack that I had received seemed to be new & I've had no problems with it yet. I would recommend this product especially if you're looking for more room, but the Pop Quiz backpack was better for school purposes..."

"This backpack is def worth the money. I've gotten so many compliments and have had friends buy the same backpack because they like it so much. stylish and sleek, this backpack will make you the envy of your campus. The laptop compartment is slightly a tight fit, although you just learn to deal with it, its really not that bad. This comfy backpack is definitely worth picking up"

Pretty Not Practical

"As titled, this backpack is very stylish (and extremely popular). However, Iv'e had the bag for 2 years now and noticed wear and tear after 6 months and after a year, it had ripped corners and the fabric around the draw string had almost completely worn out. If you are comfortable with paying this much for a bag that will last you 2 years, then I would recommend getting this bag. The laptop compartment is also very handy and a nice plus. the bag has been very easy on my back so thats also a plus."

"Extremely comfortable, the cushions really take the weight off your shoulders and back. I've carried laptops and 8 library books in my bag barely any pain. I really love the waterproof material. The design is gorgeous and I always get compliments. The only thing that bugs me is that the two little leather straps peel because the stitching doesn't rap around the points like the bigger straps do. So unfortunately mine peel back a little, but it is a minor inconvenience in what overall is a fantastically designed and practical backpack. I recommend it to any college kid that walks around with their laptop and a lot of books with them at all times."

"I bought this for the full price, and my expectations were at a high standard.
Those standards were met as the quality, style, comfortability and reliability is top-notch.
As a cost-conscious buyer, i recommend this backpack to all customers who want they pay for.
I received a lot of compliments too (design is trending right now).
Worth the $90, and i have the butterscotch coloured HSC Little America."

"There's nothing wrong I could say about this backpack. It's durable, looks great & overall useful. It takes in alot but with the support it never feels as if you're carrying a heavy load. The sleek design with the bright interior is an eye-catcher that no one ever disapproves of."

"For the longest time I debated whether to get this backpack and finally one day my old backpack ripped. I took that as a sign and looked into buying this one. So I ended up buying it and even though it is pricey, it was completely worth it."

"Recently purchased this bag from a local UO store and I have to say, I do not regret buying it! It is a bit pricey but for a high quality bag, but the price tag is worth it. I've owned the bag for a month or so now and it's been holding up well with basically no problems whatsoever. The bag is very stylish and has a nice pattern when you open up the bag, great eye candy for you and people who happen to see you taking out your books. It's a very spacious bag, I was very surprised when I opened it just because of how much could actually fit in it. The only minor drawback is that the 17 inch laptop patch in the bag will BARELY fit your laptop in it, you'll have to squeeze it in most of the time. Another minor drawback are the leather straps. They aren't the best quality and they're flimsy enough to be bent easily. You can always bend them back but it's just a minor annoyance. It can also be prevented by just laying the bag horizontally instead of vertically so the straps do not bend. The leather straps also use a magnet to connect the straps together, it's a very smart and quick way of closing and opening the bag.
Overall, it's a very sweet bag, and although it has minor drawbacks it's still worth the price. Treat it with proper care, it'll last you a while and compliment your outfit and make you look awesome. Recommended if you have the money to buy it and you're looking for a big bag to hold things like laptops, textbooks, and even clothes. It holds a lot! Keep it up Herschel."

"This backpack is perfect for uni, plenty of storage for textbooks, lunchbox, drinks etc. Seeing other reviews based on zero durability this backpack is still holding up after carrying heavy items from the day it arrived. I purchased the navy one, since it's the updated version the inside is a red paisley bandanna design. Overall this backpack is great for when you're on the go and very comfortable.. Buy one now!"

"This backpack is stylish and has plenty of room to stuff your art supplies or camping gear for a few nights. I wish the leather straps actually served their function but the magnetic holders seem to do the trick. I get compliments on it and can see myself using it for a long time. Overall, I recommend."

"This bag is incredibly badly planned. The lining on the inside at the top has 0 durability. It begins to tatter and tear almost as soon as it is in use. Backpacks usually mean someone puts their bag through a lot and this backpack has 0 ability to deal with it. Go with something that can actually handle your use."

"Notice there are two sizes of the bag, but UO only sells the bigger one (I personally prefer the smaller one) but over all after 3 months I still loves it. It's great, most importantly I haven't seen any details thats broken yet."

"I fell in love with how this product looked, still get compliments, but the latches are broken (that was after a month) and the tie inside the bag is broken. It's not a sturdy as it looks, fabrics are cheaper than I expected for the $90 I payed. Just go with one of the other bags!"

"after 2 weeks of light use the stitching is already coming off. fake leather straps look cheap. I'm almost afraid to use this bag cause it seems that it'll fall apart completely. looks great though. side note, I purchased a herschel classic for a friend and she had the same issues. she had to stop using it."

"I've had this backpack for two months now, it's endured travelling all over the place (it's been to 8 states in the short time I've owned it) -- when searching for a new bag, I had a few things in mind; it had to be sturdy, and have straps that were comfortable to wear for long periods of time. It needed to be big enough to fit at least a weeks worth of clothes and my 17.5 laptop inside, as well as room for a toothbrush and various other items. It does all of this better than any other bag I've owned. Ive spent the last 8 months living boundlessly and travelling the country, I take this bag everywhere, it holds everything I own. Would definetly reccomend!"

"I've had this back for two months now and have been using it for college classes every day. I get plenty of compliments and don't have any complaints about the quality or sturdiness.
One thing you should be aware of is that the leather straps don't actually buckle. There are snaps on the back of them so you don't have to undo them every time you want to open it. I love this feature
My only complaint is that there arent any pockets on the outside for a water bottle or something."
