The COLOR IS A LIE!!!
(April 29, 2013)
"So I have these in 2 colors. The dark red, and the dark green which are true to how they look online.
The color they call TAUPE looks like a dark brown/tan on the site. But they are actually just a very light tan. Look at the color they call STONE and that's what they look like."

Comfortable and looks good!!
(April 11, 2013)
"I got these in black. They fit me very well. Very comfortable. They might be too tight in the beginingin the waist, but don't be afraid. Like it says they're strech pants. so they will strech after you use them for a little bit. I will definetely buy another pair in a different color!
"Off the rack, these pants fit better than just about anything else I've purchased. The fit isn't quite perfect, but it's close. The leg opening could be tapered perhaps a half inch tighter (nitpicking here). If you take these to the tailor, you're wasting your money.
There are no sizing peculiarities either, so I'd recommend ordering in your standard size.
As far as discoloration is concerned, I haven't noticed anything too problematic. I've machine washed and dried my pair twice now. The pants come in deeply saturated, almost overdyed hues, noticeable only in person. They might have faded somewhat, but the tonal change is hardly egregious. I probably wouldn't have noticed had other reviewers not brought up the subject.
Another quibble I have with these pants is the "coin pocket." There's no need for this feature, and it should be removed in the future.
If you're looking for khakis with a trim, modern fit (more 511-skinny than 510-skinny), you'd be hard-pressed to find a product better than this one, especially given the price. I'll probably buy more, and would appreciate a lightweight model for the summer."

possible problem solution....
(March 22, 2013)
"After reading all the reviews in reference to the washing/discoloration issues, I tried to be very careful when it came to cleaning them. I decided to hand wash each pair, one-by-one, in the sink by themselves and let them hang to dry, in case the problem is in fact something to do with color bleeding from other clothes. I have them in the navy blue, grey and dark brown (which they don't have anymore) and after a few washes each as described, they haven't had any discoloration. They look about what you would expect after average wear and being washed a few times--maybe slight fading, but nothing that would make them not wearable. Unless they are getting seriously dirty, this should be a good enough method to clean them. Yeah, it's ridiculous to have to do this to keep them in good shape, but all the positive points written about them are true, so I guess it's just something you might have to deal with if you decide to spend the money on them and want to keep them in good shape."

Zipper unzips itself??
(March 12, 2013)
"So I am in love with the kelly green color and I was so excited to buy them for the spring. However, I also work retail and only wore them one day while on the job for an 8-hour day. They legit unzipped themselves 6 different times during the day.....hella embarrassing. They're also a perfect fit for me, so I figured this would only happen if they were a size too small."

Beware! Discoloration After Wash (Image Included)
(March 10, 2013)
"I own two pairs in the grey (liked them enough to buy a 2nd pair after I got the first pair in the mail) and after washing the first pair several times, a pink/peach color has permeated the entirety of the pants (as other reviewers have noticed). When I placed the new, unwashed pair next to the first pair, the difference in color was unreal (see attached image).
If you choose to purchase this particular pair of pants, be VERY careful about washing them. Definitely don't wash them and dry them like you would your normal jeans or khakis or whatever.
Urban Outfitters should take this item down until this has been addressed. This is really unacceptable for an item that by all rights should last for years in good condition, if properly taken care of. In terms of fit and material, I really like these pants. I just wish I could wash them without negative effects."

Given the chance to steal these pants, I'd pay.
(February 23, 2013)
"I read lots of reviews about these pants before buying them. Lots of people were saying how great they fit, and I was thinking "of course they fit these skinny hipsters." I was worried because I live by squats and oats and my legs are rather muscular and my butt is huge from the gainz. I checked the size chart and measured myself before ordering the 32/32. I paid for 5-7 business day shipping and they came in 4. I tried them on and my god did they blow me away. These are the sickest pants forever. I haven't washed them yet, let's hope I don't get the fading and streaking color."

washing problems
(February 8, 2013)
"If you are planning on washing these pants sometime in the future after your purchase, then don't bother. After the first wash there were pink streaks all over the legs, some of the grey color completely faded away. Seemed legit at first, and I even followed the washing instructions on the pants."

same issue with discoloring
(January 29, 2013)
"I got the pants in grey - fit very well in the store, and they seemed to be of decent quality. I washed the pants for the first time and did not notice until after drying that there was an odd color (pinkish/peach tint as others have noticed) bleeding throughout the pants. It looks like it might be from the zipper.
The pants are basically ruined now... if only I had seen these comments before buying!"

Review 10 for Hawkings McGill Stretch Skinny Chino
"The color is accurate to what is shown in the picture. The pants are true to size. I thought the material was going to be cheap, but the material is very soft and comfortable. It is a mixture between a GAP chino and a Levi's Sta-Prest pant. It can be worn casually with a t-shirt and sneakers or formally with an oxford and tie. I will definitely be purchasing another pair in a different color because of how happy I am with these."

Looks may be deceiving...
(December 12, 2012)
"I have 4 different pairs - gray, black, khaki, and brass. The fit is inconsistent. Some are too baggy while some fit just right. After washing the gray and khaki pair, like the fellow reviewers, they were discolored (like a peach/light orange color) down the left thigh. I began washing them inside out without using detergent, but inside is now a completely different color. I would recommend buying the darker colors and definitely try them on in store."

confused.
(December 6, 2012)
"i bought the khaki and black pairs, both 32/30, and the khaki fit like i thought they would...slim but not tight, but the black ones were tight and a lot shorter than the khaki ones. i still wear them, but only because i pretty much can't return them. plus the button fell off the black ones before i even got to wear them. easy fix, but still, i shouldn't have to repair something i just bought. the fact that one pair of the exact same pants, just a different color, being THAT different is just really weird to me and doesn't make me feel very good about the purchase."

Bad result after washing - SAME ISSUE (NAVY)
(November 27, 2012)
"Nit0 - I had the same issue. I washed my navy pair after purchasing (before wearing) and the color faded out. Not only did it fade, but it only faded in certain areas (not all over), leaving color spots throughout the pants. Very disappointed and will not need to return. This happen to a navy pair, can't speak to the other colors."

Bad result after washing
(November 11, 2012)
"Did anyone have problems after the first washing? I got it washed and I had a bad result after that, so I need to get it changed because the color came totally out after one wash. Let me know if someone got the same issue, thanks."

Good Pants
(October 22, 2012)
"Very comfortable, good fit. Construction and materials are pretty solid. Only thing that really bothers me is that the side belt loops are closer to the back and not at your sides, so my belt sometimes fits strangely, and I cannot fit my U-Lock though my belt like I do with most pants. Otherwise, nice product."

Great purchase !!
(September 11, 2012)
"I bought these pants & the minute I put them on i fell in love with them. The quality is great, the comfort is great, the color is great, they do well after being washed. I love to wear them. One of the best pair of pants i've worn, not too thick not too thin. Just right.
Way undersold! I ended up buying another few pair after.
you won't be disappointed!"
