Shocking Quality

"Unless you want a lovely looking pair of shoes on your shelf that you can never wear do NOT buy these shoes.
I wore them for half a day before the leather around the heal split and the soles black paint wore off revealing a white sole (white soles must be cheaper to produced than black).
Shocking quality. I rarely complain or ever write a review but these are so bad I'm a returning them 1 day after receiving them."

"I've been looking for a really nice pair of oxfords for a few months. I tried several different pairs from Urban, and other places, but I could not find the perfect pair. Until I tried these. I had previously purchased a pair of Bed Stu boots, and they are currently my favorite pair of boots. So I figured, same brand, same thing? And I was right. Beautiful shoe. I wish they were wingtip, but no biggie. Definitely a good buy. Very comfortable too. I have somewhat wide feet, so I bought a size up. A tad bit bigger than I wanted, but not a problem whatsoever."

"Really, they fit weird... I have fairly small, narrow feet and these shoes, even though they are unusually long, constantly press down on the top of my foot. I can't imagine these ever being comfortable - even if the fit is right."

the SOLE was BLUE

"I ordered the black shoes and they fit great. They looked good until I noticed that the sole was BLUE. Like a light grey blue!!! WTF? I went back to the product page and now I see that they put the sole from the CREAM shoe on my black ones. awful. I would keep these if the right sole was on the right shoe, but now I'm not even sure if I want to reorder them to hopefully get the right product."

"Just got these. Great looking and true to size. Soles are very thin so probably won't last long. I'm annoyed though because they just got the Hudson shoes in which are much higher quality, so now I may return these and get the other ones. But if you want this look without breaking the bank, thumbs up."

the greatest shoes in the world! (sorta)

"I bought these shoes in brown about 6 months ago and have been wearing them exclusively since. seriously, they're the only pair of shoes I wear, it's the perfect cross between casual and style. They are super comfortable and well worth the price. before these shoes, I have been looking for the perfect oxford style shoes that are slim fitting but none ever appealed to me.
The only gripe I have about these shoes is that the inside of the heel area has been wearing out quite a bit, this may be due to me slipping them on and off carelessly and lazily but still, the outside holds up really well in any weather condition, you WILL be scuffing the front of the shoe a lot but I think it just gives them character and it looks great."

Best Oxfords I've Owned

"I've had these shoes for over a year now and worn them 6 days a week. Goes well with every outfit, I love the slimness of the shoes. They've held together fantastic, these shoes have walked and ran hundreds of miles. Don't ruin when completely wet, strong shoe laces never needed replacement. The interior is coming apart slightly but not a major problem. Buy your regulat size and they may be slightly tight but work in wonderfully. Best oxford."

"I ordered the brown shoe in a size 10. i thought that would work since im a size 10 in TOMS. i think i should of ordered a 9 1/2. The color issue i fixed by adding some rubbing alcohol. after doing that i got the color close to the website image. i like the shoes but they arent my main pair, so the times i have worn them they feel nice."

These shoes disassemble themselves.

"With no effort you can wear them to ruin in under five months: the dark soles you see in the picture will promptly turn white as the poor quality paint (crayon?) peels away ; the sole easily detaches itself from the rest of the shoe; the insole peels and deteriorates before completing disassociating itself from the inner shoe in favor of the bottom of your foot. Moreover, the images you see belie what you will receive. I purchased the brown pair and the image would have you believe that they look ever so slightly worn and aesthetically appealing; the shoe you will receive isn't a glossy nicely worn brown leather but a dull, dusky, solid and even brown that doesn't even look like leather until you wear it down a little, but by then its too late because the shoe is falling apart. Nevertheless, they fit nice, they're very light, and look alright for about a month or two."

"When my shoes arrived they looked great in the box, maybe a little too shiny but nothing that can't be fixed. When I tried them on they were about 1 1/2 inches too big, so size smaller. My size 12 should be coming in soon so I can't wait to use-in these ladykillers ."

the nicest shoes I own

"I've been looking for a pair of oxford-ish shoes for a while, most are too rigid or too much heel.
these are absolutely perfect. I'm buying more clothes just to wear with these.
also the first pair of shoes that I bought from UO that fit perfectly first try.
they look just as worn as the product images, more worn than the other user image posted."

don't look as good as the picture

"I bought the black pair and have been disappointed for the most part. They really didn't look anywhere near as good as the picture made them out to be. The picture shows black with some bluish wear all around the shoe which is subtle yet easy to see. That detail on the actual shoe was no where near as obvious. The entire shoe is a dark blue (not black) which is horribly obvious if you want to where anything else black with them. Under sunlight i was barely able to make out the color wear details. After about 2 weeks I can't even see any of the detail anymore, just plain blue shoes.
Oh and the paint comes off the soles very easily and underneath is bright white which looks really bad.
Horrible shoe, especially for the price."

"I've been visualizing a pair of shoes like this adorning my feet for quite some time and they look as great as I anticipated they would. I just can't seem to figure out why they would attach a white sole and paint it black instead of attaching a black one. I might have to start carrying around a sharpie to hide the small nicks which would otherwise not be visible had the sole been black."

"The 'black" shoes are blue. Dark blue, but they are definitely not true black. They fit well, feel good, and look good with lighter-colored pants, but if you wear these with true black pants you'll look a fool. I'm going to rub some black shoe polish on mine ... we'll see."

"Just received these in the mail and tried them on. Absolutely perfect fit, I couldn't be more stoked. Feels like these guys will last a while too. As another reviewer noted, the colour isn't *exactly* the same as the picture (they are indeed darker). Still, ended up matching the belt I bought so added bonus. Cannot recommended these more!"

The Soles are pretty much painted brown

"I love Bed Stu! These shoes looked really nice on me and the color is exactly what it looked like from the pictures. Now the upper is leather and it looks amazing, the shape and design of the shoe is very appealing, classical/vintage.
My only complaint is about the soles of the shoes. While the leather upper needs to be taken care of so one shouldnt be rubbing it against rough surfaces, but they can take a beating and still look mildly good. the soles, however, are made of rubber and painted brown to match the color of the shoes, so if you scuff it, the PAINT WILL CHIP OFF EASILY. I was walking up the steps of my house and i accidentally hit the front part of the shoes against one step and i look down and i see the tip of my shoe seemed to pick up some type of white stuff. i thought to myself it might be from the steps so i go to rub it off. NOPE. the paint from the sole chipped off the front and it did NOT look pretty. the leather upper was fine, a lil scratch but not too bad, but the sole portion sticking out in the front that now had the chip stood out so much. You have to take GREAT CARE in not scuffing the front of the shoes, (which happens often especially to me) because once that color chips off, you are left with WHITE rubber soles that clearly can be seen in contrast to the brown shoes.
So if you are one to scuff shoes easily or you like to scuff your shoes, have some type of brown permanent marker or brown paint to color in the areas where the paint chips off. Luckily I took a black permanent marker and a brown permanent marker and colored it in so it looks better. maybe some brown shoe shine polish may help or something to that effect.
IN THE END, love the shoes, fits true to size, like all Bed Stus, but wish the bottom of the shoes were designed with a brown material instead of a white material. Because in all honesty, for the price, its not worth it for most people to buy."
