Great Little Sofa

(April 11, 2011)
"Not little as in small, but in price. I'm 5'10" and can stretch out all the way. When you fold it down, 2 people can comfortably lay down, sort of like a "Super Twin" mattress size. Firm but comfortable, you don't sink down like a warehouse sofa, but it's not too hard either. It's just right. At this price I can't complain about anything. A tiny bit of assembly, just attaching the arms and legs, was done in about 10 minutes. Gorgeous fabric, and everyone that comes into our apartment comments on the sofa immediately. It looks a lot more expensive than it is thanks to good design, and no one ever expects it to be a fold down so they're always surprised. If you need a second sofa that you can use as a sleeper, or have a small budget (or stairway, that would prevent you from bringing a larger sectional set inside), look no further than the Night & Day Convertible Sofa from UO. It looks great with either vintage/retro or modern design styles as well!"

Great Sofa!

(March 17, 2011)
"I bought this sofa for our cabin in the mountains. I have slept on it once and sat on it many times while watching TV. It's a little firm, but that doesn't bother me, my wife or my kids. Keep in mind I don't sit on it everyday. I have had a lot of family and friends stay at our cabin and they all love the style of the sofa and no one has complained about the comfort. For the price, it gets 10 stars!"

Great Sofa for the $$$$

(February 26, 2011)
"This is a excellent sofa. It is sturdy, it converts, and its eonomical. I use it when I have guest over. I purchased the persimmon color which is beautiful. You will love it and everyone who has the space should purchase one. You never know when your going to have house guest. :-)"

Buy This Couch!

(January 27, 2011)
"It shows that you really can't trust anyone's opinion but I'll give you mine anyways. Some of these reviews made me nervous about buying this couch. I wanted to see it in person but when I went to the store they didn't have it put together and so I couldn't actually sit on it. I went ahead and bought it despite what the previous reviews had said and I'm so glad I did. 1) So easy to put together. It only took 15 minutes between two people. 2) It's gorgeous 3) It's a firm couch but I would not say it's uncomfortable at all. 4) This is the best price you're going to find for a nice couch AND one that turns into a bed! THE END. People complain too much."

More Shabby than Chic.

(June 8, 2013)
"This sofa is darling, but the construction is really shoddy. It's firm, but somehow you still feel like you might fall through the cushion. You have to attach the arms, which come with a singular bolt for each side. It should have been an easy process, but we spent about an hour trying to get the holes to line up for the bolt and eventually had to drill a new hole. I could see spending $300-400 on this sofa, but the price is too high for a piece that might not make it through the year. My advice, spend your hard earned dollars on something more substantial. I'm giving it 3 stars simply because it is so cute."

awful quality

(May 25, 2013)
"I got this couch about two years ago and am surprised to see UO selling it again based on the many negative reviews. Seriously, don't waste your money. It might look attractive, but overall, it is very firm and very uncomfortable. Worse, the quality is very poor. You put much of it together yourself upon arrival, and the workmanship of the couch quality is even more apparent when you look inside to see the cheap and shoddy materials--splintered wood, sloppy joints to screw in your legs, and ill-fitting holes for the arm screws and legs. My couch didn't last very long, first the arms sagged at unsightly angles since they are barely anchored on with the materials provided. Then, one of the legs broke off. Really, just don't buy."

Super cute but horrible quality

(March 17, 2013)
"Loved how this couch looked when it came... looked super cute in my retro home. It's seat depth was very narrow but I decided I could live with that because I loved the style. However, within a year the arms were at a 45 degree angle. They just slide into metal brackets on the side, not sturdy at all. We were super careful because we were worried about the sturdiness but even being careful they didn't hold up. The fabric didn't hold up either... became fuzzy and started to pill. It's been a year and a half and I'm looking for a new couch. :("

Sofa arrived one month later, not as pictured

(February 23, 2013)
"Hello,
My boyfriend and I were very excited to order this couch. We had read a review that stated that it had arrived a month late for someone, so we anticipated the same. Five weeks later, we received the sofa, and were disheartened to see how unlike the photos it was.
First of all, the couch is a solid orange--not the vintage, peachy 'tweed' wash that the photos above picture. The sofa would have been the center piece of our living room, and the back of it is atrocious. Where the photos make it seem like it mystically hides the fact that it can be turned into a bed, there is instead black lining that just hangs down (and it was dusty?).
The worst part about the couch is the shoddy craftsmanship. The threading was not only snagged in several places, but it is uneven, and poorly sewn (photos attached).
I promised myself that I would never buy a couch from IKEA again, but our IKEA couch was such better quality than this one. I would never recommend anyone to buy this couch, except for a teenager moving out of their parents' house for the first time. If we had seen this couch in person, we wouldn't have looked twice at it (except to say, 'Wow, did someone make that thing with their eyes closed?').
I love you, Urban, but only for your in-store sales. Furniture fail."

Exactly what it needs to be, looks amazing.

(February 6, 2013)
"I have had this couch for about a year now, and I am still really pleased with it. While it may not be the most comfortable couch I've ever sat on, real mid century modern couches aren't either, and I'm not saying it's uncomfortable. I love the in between upright and down setting, it is perfect for lounging on your side and having a chat with a friend. The cushion has withstood a lot of sitting and sleeping, and has received positive reviews from both my mom and my boyfriends mom, which I think is worth mentioning as sleepers in the 60+ age range usually have high expectations. I have slept on it a few times too, and it is really comfortable. It's a great length for tall people as well, and for the price and function of the thing, I am really happy with the purchase.
One thing, as this sofa is kind of an investment, ask yourself if you/any roommates you may have are going to treat it with respect, are you really ready to own something that you need to take good care of. This is not a sofa where you can sit on the arms while you put your shoes on."

Cute Modern Sofa for a Good Price

(January 4, 2013)
"I love the couch. We had a tough time w the screws for the arms. I don't think the threads lined up and we didn't end up using them- so far no issues- but it's the only reason why it's not 5 stars- it's not ideal not to use the screws.
I also ordered the taupe and it's not the oatmeal color I thought it'd be but the light grey with brown threads running through is still nice and works. Love that it opens easily to a bed. The couch is firm but that's to be expected for this style and it's still comfortable.
I ordered the couch at 20% off and free shipping. Great deal for a mid-century style that opens to a bed. Recommend :)"

great quality and great price

(September 24, 2012)
"i have to say by reading peoples reviews i was turned off towards buying this sofa. but having recieved it today and seeing it with my own eyes, i love it. great quality and great price compare to what you would pay for a couch like this. most prices are above $2000 and for $700 this couch is great. i would recommend it to all my friends who are looking for a mid century style sofa. only complaint was the shipping which took a month and half. a little too long but its cool."

Bad Fabric Quality

(September 12, 2012)
"I received this couch in April 2012 and by June the fabric was already pilling and showing major signs of wear and tear. To make matter worse, the couch wasn't heavily trafficked. I found the couch not to be very comfortable as well. The arm rests aren't very stable and so it is hard to really relax and lean back. Given all of the issues with this particular piece of furniture, however, I'm very pleased with the customer service that Urban provided when I wanted to return the sofa. They were very helpful and understanding."

Love this retro sofa

(June 21, 2012)
"Love this sofa. Exactly the style I was looking for and the price is amazing. The color isn't quite what I expected - I thought it would be more grey when it is seems more blue. But still love it."

Took forever, but was worth it

(June 17, 2012)
"When I ordered this, the website let me pay for 3 day shipping, even though it actually takes 3-4 weeks.
It ended up taking over 6 weeks to arrive, and UO wouldn't track it, so I had to call two different trucking companies repeatedly to figure out where the couch was. They did refund the $75 shipping.
The couch, however, exceeded my expectations. It is very comfortable (not crunchy like some reviews say) and the fabric is soft and expensive feeling. It is also very large, my 6'4 boyfriend can lay down comfortably. Also, it only took me 10 minutes to put together!
I expected it to be a much cheaper couch from the reviews, but I love it!"

looks great and comfortable!

(May 9, 2012)
"I think it is very good for price!!! I love firm sofa so it is very comfortable and looks vey stylish! All my friends love this sofa!!!
Just people have to be very careful about side arm rest. Those pieces are just slightly attached and we can not give so much pressure!!! If someone try to sit on arm rest, it will falling off for sure!"

Looks like a $1500 sofa. Feels like a $150 sofa

(April 15, 2012)
"That about says it. Lovely to look at - chic, elegant, stylish, sophisticated, functional, with a compact dimension that looks and feels spacious. This looks like an expensive sofa. Yet when you sit on it, the illusion crumbles: everything wobbles, the fabric is more promise than realized potential, the arms are sort of a gesture at form without being functional, and the legs visibly give a little when you so much as cross your legs. As a 110 pound non-couch-potato with no roomies and mostly well-behaved guests, this thing might hold up a year. I hope. Honestly, I didn't want to spend $1500 or even $1000 on a sofa. So at whatever-and-tax, I'm happy this is a smart, really good looking fellow and fine for a short term relationship with low expectations. UO should knock $200 off the price, or else ask the manufacturer to step up their game. With a few improvements to the arms and fabric, it could have been Mr Right instead of Mr Right Now."

Mid Century modern on a budget!

(April 9, 2012)
"I've been looking for a mid century style couch without breaking the bank. Most websites sell couches that look like this for over $1000. For just about $600 this couch is a great find! I ordered the timberwolf color, however, the tweed fabric makes it look more blue gray. I still love the look! The delivery guys assembled it for me and it took 2mins.The side arms do come out so they have a little bit of movement while leaning against. Nothing Im too worried about. I had a guest sleep over and they said it was quite comfortable as a day bed. Not sure about 2 people sleeping on it. For the money, I would recommend this couch!"

Terrible Quality!!!

(March 10, 2012)
"I can not recommend this sofa. Both of the armrests broke after a month because people were leaning (not sitting) on them.
It's just a few screws drilled into plywood, no surprise that wouldn't last...
I added a few photos, so you can see what I'm actually talking about!

Rip off

(January 23, 2012)
"This is a great looking couch. Saw it online and it was just my style. As soon as I got it in it was clear that the quality was very poor for the price. I immediately wanted to send it back but unfortunately you have to pay to ship it back to Urban and its not cheap. I put it together, kept it for awhile, always upset that I didnt put it right back in the box and send it away. At least it was easy to sell. Very uncomfortable, very cheap."
