great buy now that it's on sale
"As other reviewers have said, this is not worth a c note. The lace is nice but the rest of the dress is this cheap nylon-ish material that makes a swishy noise every time you move. It fits great and looks adorable, though, so I would highly recommend it for the sale price.
Only other downside: it's a pain to get off. I've perfected a technique so it's not so bad now, but when I tried it on in-store I almost had to call for an attendant's help after 10 minutes of struggling."

I tried both the black and ivory ones over again and I just couldn't decide between the 2, so I bought both!
I'm 5'6", 34B, 130lb and usually wear 4-6. This dress has to be fitted in order to show your shape, and the size 4 fits me perfectly. In fact, I could fit a size 2 as well (just that it's tight and shorter - but I couldn't find the ivory in a 4 in store so bought the 2 anyway!)
The lacey portion is very pretty and classy and the little sweetheart black insert fits perfectly, such that you don't (and you really shouldn't) wear a bra - otherwise you can see it from the back and it doesn't look as nice!
The waistband is quite high, and the skirt puffs out after that; topped with the shoulder pads, it gives an illusion of a really small waist! It's also great for hiding tummy since the skirt flares out.
(the back is especially nice as it is lacey and very sexy, while not being too revealing or anything)
I LOVE THEM!! Very good investment, definitely worth buying!"

"This fabric for this dress was cheap. The lace was thick, itchy, cheap and the skirt was made of what felt like nylon material. The fit was ok, but I really wish there were sleeves for the dress since I have broad shoulders. I pretty much didn't buy the dress because the material was not worth the price."

"this dress is one of my FAVORITES! i originally went to one store and bought it in the ivory and it didnt look the best on me, then i found it in the black and its literally one of the most favorite pieces i own
its classy and so lovely you wont regret it. the only reason i didnt find the ivory flattering on me is because of my dark skin and very petite frame ( i am 5'0'' 90 lbs and the 0 in the ivory just didnt look put together as much as the black for some reason)

"I drooled over this dress in the window of UO for weeks. When I finally received it in the mail, I was so sad! I ordered the ivory, as I love that antique look and feel. The lace was itchy and the bottom material, as the reviewer before me mentioned, felt cheap. It was a weird fit in the top. Most items from UO are nice and fitted in the chest, but this dress was just the opposite. Not for the small chested! Great idea, poor execution."

"I absolutely LOVE this dress, I think it's to-die-for cute, and really flattering, so naturally after trying it on in the dressing room I immediately decided to buy it. One problem--I couldn't get it off, and not because I got the wrong size (it fit a little loosely even), but because the zipper is so cheap! I couldn't get the zipper down over the seam between the lace top and the skirt. I spent 5 min trying by myself, and had to go outside humiliated and ask the sales associates to help me. It took TWO of them ANOTHER 5 min to get it off me. They apologized the whole time, saying they'd had problems with the zippers in this dress.
I was really bummed, but I can't bring myself to pay $100 for a dress I can't unzip, no matter how perfect. But if it goes on sale, I'll be sure to buy it."

"I thought I wanted the black over and over again and realized my local UO had one left in a size 4. I wear a size 6. Even though the size 6 is a little big on me I knew the size 4 would be too small . I could also tell I was in luck b/c the ivory looked AMAZING and the black made me look as though I was going to a funeral. I thought that b/c I'm pale it wouldn't work but in fact it brightened up my skin tone. BUY IT, take care of it, save it and give it to your daughter who will love it as much as you do years from now. GORGEOUS.

"i LOVE this dress- i am 5'6 120 and got my normal size 4. i wore it to see the nyc rockettes last week and got stopped by several people asking where it was from! it is very classy and young yet still buisness in the front, party in the back- i have the ivory and wore a black bra with it and it looked really cute. it is a little shorter than i thought it would be but by NO means it it TOO short- i wore black tights and tall black patent leather heels with it and thought it was the perfect little holiday dress! one of my favorite dresses i've ever gotten from UO"

"I was planning to wait to order this dress until it went on sale, but with it selling out over and over again, I just determined that I would bite the bullet and get it anyway. It is gorgeous, just as you would expect from the pictures and because it's made by Kimichi. However, there are a couple things that I feel are definitely worth mentioning. I tend to hedge my bets a buy slightly large when I order dresses from Urban, so I got a 10 with a 36-27-39 figure, but it was slightly large. I would probably have been happier going down to an 8. The other two are more general factors. You can't really tell in the pictures, but the skirt is a little shiny. Not like satin or anything, but a little bit and it makes noise as you move. It's a pretty marked contrast from the lace, but I like it. The other thing is that the sweetheart front doesn't continue around to the side seams, as I had assumed, but stops 2-3 inches earlier on either side, so depending on how well endowed you are, you might end up with some side boob cleavage. But the dress was comfortable and not too short at all (because of course that question will come up) and, yet again, totally pretty. If you really want it, I would say that it's worth the money."

Even if the dress did fit me right, the black sweetheart cutout was too low, and I felt the cutout looked like it was cheaply made. The skirt seemed fuller online than it did when I tried it on. "I just got this dress in black in the store. I am 5'5, 100lbs with 32A and a size 0 fits perfect. I worried about the black fabric that covers the bust under the lace but it stays put and you could even get away with wearing a thin strapped nude bra without it looking like your wearing one. The length is perfect, usually urban dresses are way to short on me. BUY it!!"
