"I was very excited to try this camisole on, as I love the idea of a velvet blouse, but unfortunately, it did not work out. The fit is not good at all; in the chest area the shirt seems very baggy and loose, which doesn't nothing for your shape. It looks as if the shirt is just hanging on your body. Even though the waist is sinched, it still looks very akward. Also, as said, the waist band is not comftorable at all. On a positive note, the colour's are breathtaking. The rich jewel tones were beautiful, and is unfortunate the shirt did not work out.
The execution is nice, but failed to deliver. :("

"I tried this on in stores and was terribly disappointed. The premise is great -- a shaped, velvet cardigan in rich color. Unfortunately the fit failed to deliver, and compromised the entire look of the top. I tried it on in a medium, which is roughly my regular size (and sometimes too small). The fit was so off. Lenthwise was fine, it hit just below the top of my jeans. The neckline was off. The lowest point of the 'V' hit at the middle of my chest, rather than low -- it looked awkward and unflattering. The elastic waist is huge. At it's tightest it was a good 3 inches larger than my waist, which couldn't be fixed by sizing down because the chest was already quite snug. A belted waist only caused it to bunch and look even more unflattering. And the elastic in the waist felt stiff and uncomfortable. The only plus I have for this item is that the fabric and colors are to die for. The combination of velvet with the rich, deep wine color is perfect for the winter months. Definitely look for something with a better fit."

"I will admit the fit is a little strange, but i don't mind. i'm 5'5.5", 123 pounds, and a 32C (but with a 30 inch ribcage). The upper part was a little loose and it's difficult to not have your bra straps showing because of the way the back is shaped. But personally, this is my favorite shirt (for now). I could stand the shape. I felt that the velvet green brings out olive skin and brownish-green eyes, but i think it would give a beautiful forest-y look to any hair color or skin tone"

"I love velvet, and usually order whatever Urban gets in that is velvet...so of course ordered this! Upon receiving it tho, was dissapointed. I am 5'5", 107 lbs, and usually get smalls in Ecote, or By Corpus or Kimchi...got a small in this...but it's big, wide, boxy...just strange. Looks weird on too. So its on its way back.....and I'm not interested enuff to exchange for an XS...."
"just terrible, easily the most ill fitting think I have ever purchased. Way too loose in the waist (and this is coming from someone without much of a waist) SUPER tight around my chest, and the neckline is much, much higher than pictured. If you try to pull the top down it only makes it tighter in the chest and makes the waist band hit an awkward spot way below my natural waist. A total waist of money, I'm sending it back tomorrow. If you hae any sense you'll learn from my mistake and actually listen to the adice of other reviews and not purchase this item. I can't imagine that this would look good on anyone."

"This is a super cute top when it's not actually on your body. When you put it on, the fit is hideous. I am a petite person and it made me look like my top half was a giant square. The side view isn't as bad, so if you want to walk sideways so people see you coming from the side, perhaps this is the top for you. The fit of this top is a heinous crime against humanity."

Strange Fit
"I tried this shirt on at Urban Outfitters and found the fit very strange. I am rather petite--about 5'1ish and am a D/DD. I found that the armholes were too low so it showed my bra, and the overall fit wasn't good. I liked the idea, but perhaps my large bust in combination with my petite frame made it not a good fit for me. Nice fabric though."

"the velvet is really great, it's thin so it won't keep you hot. I tried on the green color, and it looked absolutely beautiful, but I didn't like the fit. The banded waist band made the top part puffy. I'm 5'3, 117 pounds, and have a shorter torso, and overall it didn't look good enough on me to buy it."

"I just purchased this at UB yesterday. I agree with one of the reviews. I think this top definitely looks/fits better on a petite girl, particularly someone with a smaller chest and shorter torso. Luckily I fit under all 3 categories so it looked great on me:) And since I am small chested (32A) I plan to wear it without a bra and perhaps belt it with a skinny belt like the model in the pic! Velvet is sooo girly-pretty around this time of year:) It's a gorgeous top but I do recommend trying it on first before purchasing!"

"I was hoping to wear this out to a birthday dinner or holiday party this year and quickly grabbed it to try on when I was at UO today. Unfortunately, this top was really awful.
I am a size 4/s, 34B, and tried on a small. I expected this to be sexy and kind of low cut like on the model, but I felt the opposite in it. The top part was super boxy and cut too high on my chest, and the length was very awkward...just made me look boxy and frumpy. It was a big let down because the velvet is really cool, but I couldn't get past the bad shape.
This is probably best for very petite girls. I have a long torso so the proportions of this were just way off."

Gorgeous shirt, a bit disappointed in the fit!
"I loved this top the minute I saw it in the November catalog. I purchased the green in a small and I absolutely adore the color. It is such a rich green and then paired with the velvet, it's just heaven!! However I quite dislike the fit. The chest area is very loose and baggy and not as fitted as I would have liked. Besides that it would have been perfect. I am sure others will have the same problem, since the rest of the top fits excellently but then there is all this extra fabric in the bust! I am disappointed but I still love it!"
