"I just recieved mine in the mail and was very skeptical due to all of the bad reviews. I am using it as of right now, and for me its perfect! This is my first record player and i just wanted something I could play my music too in my small apartment. Mine did not break when I opened it.. Others just need to be careful. The sound quality could be a little better but it still sounds amazing! If you arent picky about having PERFECT soun quality and you just want a cheap record player that works fine, get it! I am so happy with my purchase."

"Being one of the cheaper turntables that I had come across, it's no wonder that my parents bought it as a birthday present for me. Well, they definitely regretted being so cheap. First, the dust shield wouldn't even stay attached to it! I ended up setting it aside because it fell off every five minutes. Also, the alignment was off or something because the records would turn so crookedly that they hit the bottom of the turntable. Needless to say, I returned it within a week or so."

"I ordered this turntable for Christmas because I thought it looked awesome online! Unfortunately when taking it out of the box I was highly disappointed. The turntables dust shield is a grayish blue that is barely transparent instead of the grey clear dust shield depicted in the picture. All and all this Jensen turntable looks a lot cheaper in real life and I would look elsewhere."

"I bought this as a gift for my younger brother. He's totally new to vinyl, and I think this will do just fine for what he needs. The sound quality is NOT great, but it's not awful either. There are hook ups on the back, which is not shown, for external speakers. It also isn't shown that the dust cover fits over LPs. There were a few scratches on it, which is odd. This can't be the fault of UO, since it seems to be packaged at the Jensen manufacturing facility. Again, I would be very disappointed in this player if I were buying for myself to upgrade from my old Pioneer, but that isn't the case. If you've never had anything to do with vinyl, and you live in a small space like a dorm or somewhere you can't spread out a system, then this is the record player for you.
But I will also say that this technology is not that advanced, and even cheaply made players should be more adequate than they are."

"Right out of the box, this record player didn't work properly. All of my records sounded speeded up, no matter which RPM setting I tried. (You can choose between three different settings). I tried a few different records just to be sure and while trying the second or third one, the whole unit stopped working. It started up again later, but be wary, the electronics are not good.
Also, the parts seem very cheaply made. The record needle and arm are plastic and seems like they could snap off pretty easily."

"I am not an aficionado by any means, there are some people who are super serious about this stuff and I'm not, I just like listening to records. If you are similar in your requirements, are looking for a good record player to listen to LPs, then this is a great buy! Small, good looking, and sounds great!"

"This classic piece is pretty much everything it advertises to be. Simple design (in both look and function). The internal speakers are of pretty good quality. I really, really love the wood paneling. If you're just looking for a novel way to listen to your favorite music (like me) you will definitely swoon for this cool deal. Hardcore vinyl fans will probably prefer something a little fancier, but take this low-priced gadget and add some beefy speakers and you're looking at a pretty good deal."

"This is an excellent stand-alone record player for the cost. The speakers aren't the greatest, but it does sound nice and plays 33s, 45s, and 78s. There is a headphone jack and hookups for external speakers if you want to beef up the sound. The top doesn't open all the way, which is odd, but there is plenty of room for a 33 LP to spin comfortably. The added radio is an excellent bonus."

"I really like this turn table. Its great for the price. There are a few things that may be a potential issue. For example the lid isn't the best. Just be sure to not lift it up to far. Also the speakers aren't the best. They are good enough for my apartment, but nothing special. However you can wire external speakers if you desire to do so. Also there's no other frills to it other than a radio. So if your needing a usb port and what not, this doesn't have it. But if your looking for a inexpensive turn table, or a good starter one then look no further."

"This is a great record player. Granted, there are better ones out there, but not for this price. The price of this one is fantastic for the quality of the machine. The only problem was when I bought it, the lid broke. It's natural to want to open a lid all the way, but the lid only opens as much as you can see in the picture. If you go father than that, it will break. So, just don't go father, and you'll be 110% pleased with this record player."

"I'm poor and this was the cheapest I could afford, so I'm not freaking out about it. It doesn't sound that bad, but it's kind of like when you play a cd and the volume is up too loud so it sounds sort of funny through the speakers. For how much it costs, it's fine."

"I bought this for myself after my grandmother gave me a bunch of her old LP's from the 70's. I didnt want to spend much because I'm well a broke college student. butttt i LOVE IT. its super super cute. Despite other reviews, I think the sound is great. It's only downside is you can tell it's very fragile but I dont see how it will break if it's just sitting on a desk. buy it! its great!"

"The kids bought this for their dad who has a huge lp collection and it worked for about 5 minutes and then the lid came loose. We should have listened to the reviews. Not worth the money. Spend a little more to get something substantial."

"I got this thing a while ago, under a year, I think, but it's never been very good.
Even while new, records wouldn't sit on it properly, and as it would play, the sound would sound really low and almost plastic coming out of the speakers.
Also, the plastic cover would always pop when I opened it, and after a few months, somehow it got cracked and now half of it is broken off.

"I bought this as my first record player because it was cheap and all I could afford at the time. The first one I got was broken. The second one they shipped out worked, but the cover pops off whenever I open it. Yesterday I was listening to an record that I had just bought and the cover fell onto it while it was playing! No one was moving around, so that wasn't the cause. LP's sound strange when you listen to them, the RPM is 33, when LP's are meant to be played at 33 1/3 RPM. I recommend investing in a good turntable, especially for your first."

Broken after some months.

"I was not particularly rough with it... but it stopped operating after maybe 8 months... Whatever "triggers" when you move the 'arm' got tricky and I'd have to move my wrist all kinds of ways to get the table to turn, before it stopped working entirely (arm twist or not). :-(
I say "fair" because it at least worked for a time..."
