Defects?

"I just received this and was trying to assemble the parts. (the stand, the mirror, and the two parts to hold the mirror from left and right following the picture instruction paper that came with this) BUT the mirror doesn't fit! The length of the diameter of the mirror plus that of the two parts that are sticking out from it is longer than the length of those two holes in the stand! Did I just get a bad one? I am thinking of going to the store and just return it since this is online only. I would have exchanged if they had it at a store. Also, it doesn't come as "clean" as you see in the pictures. It's sooo much more "weathered""
