"I just got these shorts earlier today in the mail, got them out, and tried them on. Im 5'10 160 and I ordered a large. They fit good around the waist, but they were too tight for around my legs. I have very muscular legs from playing lacrosse for 4 years. The color that I ordered was darker but I guess thats because I got a bigger size. These shorts are very cute, but Im prob gonna have to wear them around the house for a bit to stretch them out before wearing them out.
Another thing, the material is very stiff. I think they lie about hte "reused" thing, because my shorts felt like brand new denim. Idk, maybe its just mine."

Don't pass these up!CA
"After reading the reviews, I was so worried that they would not fit. I ordered a medium, my usual size, and thought they'd be too small. When I got them in the mail, they were close to perfect! I love them.
The pros: They are comfy, look great, very high waisted ( I like)
The cons: You never know what you are going to get! I got both the black and blue denim shorts, and they look exactly like the ones on the model. I just lucked out because other reviews said they received a darker blue or a gray color. Also, I guess I lucked out with the fit too. Because mine fit fine. They may actually be a little big in the waist area (but I have a small waist) so I suggest ordering your normal size. I think its better for them to be big, then to be too small.
The black pair I received was extremely destroyed. The fringe was hanging down everywhere, but I can easily fix that.
FOR THE PRICE, ITS WORTH THE RISK."

too small
"i was so excited when i saw these shorts online. from all the positive reviews they looked like a good purchase. i got them both in black and denim a size small (i usually wear a 2 and i'm 5'2 110lbs). when they arrived in the mail today they looked perfect! the only problem was that i couldn't even fit them past my waist. instead of a zipper they're all buttons and i couldn't even manage to button the first one. i'm so disappointed that i don't even know if i should get them in the next size up"

Pros: cute summer shorts, staple!, cute distressed look Cons: sizing is a little off, camel toe watch out!
"I gave it an overall rating of four stars only because I was disappointed with the misleading size chart. I'm 5ft, 114lbs, and I usually fit in a size small but to my dismay it was a bit tight around the waist. I'm not really complaining but it was tight enough to reveal camel toe! I usually like my clothes reasonably loose so that's partly why. Other than that I think these shorts are totally worth it! I can't wait until it stops raining so I can pair these babys with a cute loose shirt. Tucked in or out, these shorts make tops look good. I liked them so much that I bought another pair, in medium so it's a little looser. Hehe!"

"i LOVE these shorts! for the price they are unbelievable! the fit is definitely tricky though. i read reviews and everyone said to i ordered the medium blue. I'm about 5'2 and 115 lbs and normally wear a 28 in jeans. however, I got the shorts and they were definitely baggy. they were big under the belly button in the front and in the butt, so i ordered the size small to compare sizes. the small fit a lot better. it was a lot tighter than the medium which was a little bit more flattering. I wish they were a little looser but the medium was way too large to keep, but im definitely keeping the small and still love them! hope this helps!"

Pros: utterly old-school genius
"I love these with all my winter-y heart. They look amazing paired with black nylons and thigh high socks. They'll look amazing in the summer too, no doubt about it. The only thing that's got me in a tizzy is the sizing. I bought the exact same shorts at the Levi's Store in a sz 25, and they were still big! I don't know if a an XS, or even S, in these would cut it though (which would be a 25 according to the size chart) since everyone is complaining about sizing. 5'9", 120lbs, normally size 26-27 in denim. I love them, the black is next on my list."

"These shorts fit well a little tight on the waist but not to the point where they are uncomfortable. I had ordered a pair about 5 months ago and they were WAAY to small, the reason being because they run buy levis waist size and UO runs them by xs, s ,m , and l. So i decided to give it another try and i love these ones. I guess i just got lucky this time."

"I got the blue denim last summer; they were great... So I purchased the black ones... not so much. They fit horrible, very tight on the thighs and not at all like the others. The color and distressed look on them is really cute though.. I wish they looked better on. If you are a stick, these will probably work. If you are not, I wouldn't bother."

"Let me start off by saying that these shorts are NOT medium rise but in fact they are HIGH RISE. I bought these in black online after reading a bunch of reviews where people said they loved them. Then, I went to the store and tried them on in blue. At the store, the shorts were so unflattering! I am 5'9 and 115 lbs and getting the small on was a struggle. Still, I was optimistic about my black shorts. They came in the mail today and although they are the same style as the blue ones, I like them a little bit better. I will be keeping these because I am going on vacation and need a pair of shorts...but if I wasn't I would be reconsidering."

they're alright
"If you like the distressed and ripped look, they're great, but they get a bit too into the shredded thing. I cut off some of the extra hanging strands because they were awkward, but they're pretty cute summer shorts. The fit is alright, it's urban renewal so they don't fit as well as my Levi's."

"I bought a pair in black and a pair in blue. The black ones are amazing, perfect fit and perfect rips. However, the blue ones are much darker blue than i expected, which wasn't the problem. The problem was that the rips were perfectly symmetrical on both legs and it looked funky. Whereas the black ones look original, the blue ones look intentional- not what i wanted. Ill prob exchange them and see how the next pair are. Otherwise, I love them!"

Pros: price, quality
"I'm usually weary to order anything from Urban Renewal online as the quality and fit varies greatly. And more often than not, I've been really disappointed with the item once I open the box.
Not so with these shorts! They were getting such great reviews and looked cute, so I ordered both colors. I have a preference for the black ones because the wash is amazing: a beautiful faded black. But both are perfectly distressed and worn in, and fit wonderfully.
I did have to bust out the scissors and cut some excess fraying, just because I like it better that way; it may not bother others that much. I have not washed them yet, and I can see the fraying getting a little out of hand in the washing machine and dryer, which is a concern.
But the price is right at 28 bucks and I plan to wear this in colder weather with tights. Great purchase overall!"

"i got this in my usual size m, and it fits just nice at the tummy/butt/everything, like its perfect for me! the only thing i didnt like was the buttons because i was hoping for a zip closure instead. besides that, everything fits great and i'd definitely buy another one soon!"
