don't buy a size down!!!sf. ca
"i listened to the other reviews and bought a size down --big mistake! this jacket fits true to size. it's not a functional jacket as i won't keep you warm -not even in ca! it's best suited for when it's 60 degrees or a not so cold rainy day when you want to protect what you're wearing underneath. my only complaints about the jacket are the sleeves - they're 3/4 and i don't like the way the buckle into that little thinga majiggy at the top. and the tie in the back. if it didn't have these two features i'd rate the jacket as flawless!"

Not gonna lie. I hate tight clothes, unlike most.Neb-to-the-raska
Pros: thick fabric Cons: sizing is ridiculous
"I am 5'8", and I typically where a medium in shirt sizes. But when it comes to clothes, outfits, and especially coats! I like to layer things. So I don't know what I was thinking when I ordered a small (due to the fact of everyone else's ratings). It still fits smoothly though. The sleeves and shoulders are a bit tight with only a few layers of clothes underneath, but it's dealable.
The shape of the coat poofs outward, so just a warning in advance. The fabric is really thick, probably not super warm unless you wear something underneath (agh), but it would suit autumn windy weather. The hood fits nicely, not too big, not to small, and the lots of detail is pretty nice. The length is kind of dumb, it's RIGHT under my butt, so it's not quite covering it, but not quite above it. Even though I'm slightly discontent, it still fits quite nicely, I guess I'm just one of those people that dresses in baggy clothes, and likes the "loose" feel. Which by the way girls, super tight clothing is so gross. Extremely. Boys too.
I like it. You'll like it. But the sizing is wacked up."

Great looking coatSan Francisco, CA
Pros: cute Cons: very thin (not warm at all)
"This coat looks great. And it does run large, so buy a size down. Looks good with black skinny jeans and a big scarf. It is not the least bit warm, so buy it for looks. The sleeves don't reach my wrists when rolled down, but there are really nice large pockets. It is a good coat for when it's 50-60 degrees out. Any colder, and you'll freeze!"

Pleasantly Surprised! From Boston, MA to California!
"So, I bought this jacket online a few months ago, and I have never been more pleased by an online purchase! It is perfect for fall (east coast) and winter (now that I'm over here in California...). The sizes run a bit large, so I bought a size down, and it fits perfectly. The olive color is great, more grey than green and matches well with everything. I expected it to be easily damaged because of the cloth material, but after about three months of wear, it is still in perfect condition, no rips or tears. Also, with winter almost here, it is great for layering, and makes almost every outfit look stylish. I love to wear it with my skinny jeans, a scarf, and my faux-leather boots. Definitely worth the price.
Only two small things to mention: In the pictures, it seems as though the sleeves are rolled up, but in actuality, they are only 3/4 sleeves and hit just below the elbow. However, this isn't really a bad thing, because it would look rather odd if they were full sleeves. Also, if you wear a lot of skirts and dresses and were considering wearing this over them, I would think again. The jacket is long, but the wrong shape for skirts.
All in all, I highly recommend purchasing this item!"

"Is it very warm at all? And why is urban outfitters going crazy with the overpricing. I'm really buying alot less from them because of it, and I wouldn't be complaining if the quality of their merchandise had gone up as well."

stray jacket, eh?
"This jacket is extremely nice and versatile, it can be dressed up or down. The only thing that made me nervous is that the fit is loose but then i figured out there is a drawstring on the bottom that makes it fit your body shape. I receive compliments on the jacket every time I wear it and I would recommend this jacket to anyone. It worth the price."

really nice coat!London, UK
"This coat looks great on and I think its totally worth the price. Like the other reviews say def buy down a size or two as it comes up really big, I wear a US size 6 or 8 and bought the XS which I never normally would!
Looks great with skinny jeans or a pretty dress to make it look more casual."

Pros: feels soooo good on, great for versatile weather, unique style/very funky Cons: price is too high, doesn't flatter curves, shrinks a little in wash
"I bought this jacket 4 years ago for $19.99 (yes, from Urban Outfitters). I don't know where they got $88. On the rack, it looks like $30. Now, for the amount of wear I've gotten out of it, I wouldn't sell mine for less than $60. It's a funky little jacket. I still have it and wear it. It's very unique. It's got a neo-military 80's look and it feels good... no GREAT on rainy days. It's a mix between a big blanket with arms and a straight-jacket with all the buttons, ties and snaps. It's a great alternative to your regular hoodie/raincoat. The M size feels like a Large, but that's definitely the style of the jacket."
